We love netball.
Who we are
Players
We welcome players from around year 3 up to year 12 and beyond. Our current players come from around 25 different local schools. Beginners (usually grade 3 and 4) play on Mondays late afternoon. All other matches are played on Saturdays from 8:20am until mid afternoon. All genders are welcome. After the age of 13 boys play in the mixed section.
Families
Our families live in Surrey Hills and surrounding suburbs. Many friendships are forged through involvement in our club. Some families have generations that have been involved in netball, others are new to netball. We encourage parents and guardians to become involved - every little bit helps!
Coaches
Our coaches are passionate about the development of our players. We aim to instill a lifelong love of netball. Our training sessions focus on skill development, fitness and game awareness. We also seek to support our players’ social and emotional development. Our coaches participate in ongoing training.
Committee
We have a dedicated group of volunteers to help administer the club’s activities. This includes: President, Vice-President, Co-Secretaries, Treasurer, Team Manager Liaison, Coaches coordinator, Communications Coordinator, Umpiring Coordinator, Grants and Fundraising, Sponsorship and Events.
Umpires
We are very proud of our umpires who represent our club each week. Our umpires start out as HATS (Have a try) and progress into team umpires and become badged umpires. Whitehorse Netball Association provides a well resourced training program.
Team managers
Each season we put a call out to parents and guardians for volunteer team managers. Team Managers help communicate club information to teams and provide feedback back to the committee. Team managers also set up the scoring roster and ensure that we have players ready to take the court each week.
Celebrating 10 years
We were proud to celebrate the club’s 10 year anniversary during 2023. The success of the club has been due to the foresight of the founding committee and members and the dedication of many volunteers over this time.
